I totally bailed on making any goals for February. But seriously, where the hell did February even go? Did it even happen? Was it even real?
Obviously it did and it was. I quietly celebrated 10 years with Nick, Valentine’s Day and my 27th birthday. February is usually a very busy month around here, but honestly this year it was mostly just about school. I’ve been juggling assignments, freelance articles and looking for a co-op job for the summer. I also applied to get into a digital marketing certificate program which was a lengthy process. On Monday I finally heard back and it turns out I didn’t get in this time, but maybe the next one which starts up in June. Even though I didn’t get in for this first cohort, I’m really proud to have even gotten an interview and to be considered for the next one. Which might even be better, since I’ll be off for the summer and able to focus more of my attention on it.
And now, March is here and I’m just short of two months away from finishing up the second year of my degree program. It’s exciting, but again, busy!
Setting goals is much needed this month since my to-do list is only constantly expanding; for every item I check off, two more get added it seems. So here it goes, looking at the big picture from my goals for the year, here are a few things I hope to accomplish.
After skipping bootcamp for three weeks straight last month, I really need to get back at it! I’m thankful that I made the time to at least hit up the gym now and then, but bootcamp really pushes me and I need that. So, time to get back at it and attend bootcamp twice a week this month.
I surprised myself (and maybe a few other people) when I said I was going to try to go an entire year without drinking alcohol. I’m even more surprised that I’ve already made it two months! But it’s been such a great decision and I’m really seeing a lot of improvements in my life.
So now I’m wondering, can I manage to eat a vegan diet for an entire month? My will power is strong these days, why not push it a little further?! I’ll update you at the end of March on whether or not it worked out.
I was doing really well with keeping on top of my school assignments until the last couple of weeks. I even forgot to study for a test! Derrrrr. To keep on top of things I’ll have to remember to check my planner more often.
To be honest, sometimes I get these weird anxiety attacks where I can’t open my laptop or look at my planner. I don’t understand it, but I feel like I physically cannot do it. And then finally I make myself when I know I absolutely have to, and I feel like I might almost cry, and then once I push past that feeling and just do it, it’s fine again. I think it’s considered anxiety related procrastination. Have you ever dealt with something like this? If so, how do you get past it?
Truth be told, I’m not making enough money right now. I have a couple freelance gigs I do every week and I sell zines and buttons here and there, but it’s not enough. I need to increase my income and luckily I have a few ideas I’m working on 😉
One of those ideas is to expand my freelance business this year, so I’m creating a separate website for it. It’s getting there and hopefully will be finished by the end of this month.
Social Media Stats
I really want to grow my online following this year, and I think it’s going pretty good so far. My goal is to reach 10K followers on at least one social media account by the end of the year. But for March, I’d be happy to gain at least 100 new followers on each.
Here are my stats from January 1 until now:
- from 1697 to 1724 likes on Facebook
- from 1096 to 1212 followers on Instagram
- from 2345 to 2370 followers on Twitter
- from 2276 to 2345 followers on Pinterest
And honestly, that’s all I have the time and energy for! Wish me luck!
Did you set any goals for March? What are they?! And how do you plan to achieve them?
